Negative thinking

I was talking to someone at work the other day about something and I told her I always think negative. It's true. I tend to think the worst. I figure if I think it's going to happen i will at least be ready for it when it happens and whatever else happens isn't as bad as what I thought would be. Well this lady told me that I shouldn't think that way. No matter what negative thing is going on, something positive and better will happen.

Do you ever think people are brought into your life for a reason?

Get to know us survey!

I have gotten some new followers over the last few weeks so I figured today & tomorrow would be a good time to do some surveys to get to know me a bit better! And if you don't care to read the survey, the photos are on the bottom!

How long have you been together?

It'll be 7 years this July 16th

How long did you know each other before you started dating?

2 weeks. I met him July 16th & started dating July 30th.

Who asked who out?

He asked me out.

Whose siblings do you see the most?

Considering I don't have any...it would be his sister.

What about pets?

We have a Pit named Sir Licks a Lot

Who does the cooking?

Neither of us do enough of it, but it's an even amount when we do, do it.

Who is more social?

He is. I'm quiet until I'm comfortable around people and then I don't shut up.

Who is the neat freak?

Neither of us until the house is a mess and then we both are 

Who is the most stubborn?

I would say we both are...I am probably a little more stubborn than he is

Who hogs the bed?

He would probably say me, but I'm gonna go with the dog!

Who wakes up earlier?

Depends. He needs less sleep than I do, so probably him

Where was your first date?

We went to the movies & saw Stealth and then we went and got deli sandwiches & walked the park that overlooked NYC. Perfect first date!

Who has the bigger family?

Mac

Do you get flowers often?

No. Mac doesn't like to get me stuff that dies.

Who eats more?

Definitely him!

Who sings better?

Neither of us?

Who does the laundry?

He washes and then we slack at who puts it away! 

Who’s better with the computer?

We're both decent at them, but he's better at photoshop & fixing them. We're both good at HTML though 

Who drives when you are together?

Mac since I don't drive at all.

Who picks where you go to dinner?

Me because I'm the picky one

Who eats more sweets?

We both eat our fair share...but I would have to say Darrick goes a little harder on them then I do especially if its chocolate!

Did you go to the same school?

No. There's a 4 year age gap & we lived in different towns.

Who is the most sensitive?

ME!!!! LOL! 

Where do you eat out most as a couple?

Lately, applebees

Where is the furthest you two have traveled together as a couple?

Rhode Island

Who has the craziest exes?

I'm not sure...I guess him! 

Who has the worst temper?

Not Sure...it takes a lot for Darrick to get there but once he is there its hard to bring him back! LOL! And I usually get mad immediately then once I'm done fussing I'm over it.

jersey blogger meet up details!

ATTENTION ALL NEW JERSEY BLOGGERS!!!!!

Remember when Sarah, Nikki and I all posted about a possible Jersey Blogger Meet Up? 

Well friends we have a date which you all know of July 20th and since there is a bunch of us who are all interested in coming and we are all over the stated we were thinking that it would be best to do it as Central Jersey as possible. 

Two places Nikki found that I think would be good to have the meet up are 

Kona Grill in Woodbridge 

OR

 Mike's Court Side in New Brunswick NJ. 

She has been to both and says they are both awesome! They both have outdoor seating which I think would be awesome for a July evening get together. 

Take a look at both places and let me know where you would rather do it. Also since some of you said you would be coming from work I was thinking that the best time would be from 6pm on? Let me know what you think about the time!

My clothing wishlist: Vacation Edition

I've been thinking about outfits I want to wear in Florida when Nikki & I go. I tend to not bring much with me. It could be because my grandma always would tell me "Don't over pack, you don't need much, you can always wash the stuff you bought down." Now that I'm 27 I find that theory true. When I go on trips I look for tops that can go with other bottoms & vice versa.  Here are some items I've found that are on my wish list

Weekend Update

I don't have much fun stuff to talk about that happened this weekend, but it'll be an update regardless.

Friday I worked until 5pm & then we went to Barnes & Noble for a while. We were waiting to see if the rain would go away so we could go to the fair's dollar opening night. I was supposed to meet up with Nikki, but it was raining buckets by her, so she didn't come.  Eventually Mac & I made it to the fair

Saturday I worked til 6 (supposed to be til 5 but someone called out) and then we went & met Nikki  at the fair.  We once again took NO pictures with each other. We will be taking pictures in Florida when we go in 50ish days! We're bad at documenting our meets. I promise you, we've met!

Sunday we were LAZY! I'm talking plopped our butts on the couch and didn't move until we met my dad for dinner.  

It was a pretty quiet weekend, but pretty good as well. 

I also dyed my hair. As much as I loved my highlights it was too much upkeep so I dyed it back to my semi-natural color

Florida!

In 55 days I will be in Fort Lauderdale, Florida with this lovely gal. How did this come about you ask? Oh the conversation went something like this:

Nikki: I'm going to the beach Monday.
Me: I haven't been to the beach in FOREVER
Nikki: I LOVE the beach!
Me: I haven't been since Florida 2 years ago
Nikki: OMFG! we should so go to Fl for a girls weekend
Me: I got 3 days vacay left! I'm down!!
Nikki: You'd seriously go?

And the rest as they say was history. We're going to fly down & stay at my Aunt's. She's right across from the beach. I get to have some girly time with Nikki & see family. WIN!

What are you pinning this week?

A little more open

I feel like since I've started writing in this blog I haven't been completely open. I have another site that I write on that's a little more personal and quiet, but if this site is going to be a place where I come back years from now & look back on, I want to be able to see the things that went on in our lives and not what I was pinning on some random Wednesday, so from here on I will try to speak type my mind a little more often.

Last Wednesday Mac was fired by the company he was working for. Reasons are still a little unclear right now. They said one thing, he thinks it was for another..you know how that goes. I'm trying not to stress out, but there's always a fear in the back of my mind that he won't find anything and we will have to move back home to our parents houses...yeah this is how my mind works. We've unfortunately have gone through this every year for the last 4 years in a row.  I'm pretty certain he'll find something soon & if it takes a bit, he'll at least have unemployment. He's a hard worker & someone who actually wants to work and support me & the dog.

I would appreciate well wishes and thoughts.

I hope to have a better blog entry tomorrow & something with pictures!

Old photos

I  was going through some old photobucket pics & found ones of when I was at my best weight/shape. Definitely found the motivation I used to have to hopefully get back there or close to possible by my vacation/anniversary (July 16th which is 31 days away) Wish me luck!

I will get there. Maybe not by my anniversary/vacation, but in a couple of months. I'm about to give up all junk and eat fruit and yogurt every time I want something to snack on. That's how I did it last time...well & kick butt in the gym. Which is starting again too.

I will be starting weekly or bi-weekly updates on this.

Here are some stats:

When I started weight watchers in April I was 156 pounds (I believe this is my higest ever)

Yesterday on weight watchers I was 146. So 10 pounds in 3 months, I'll take it considering I haven't stepped foot in the gym since March.

Goal weight: Anywhere from 120-130s. That's where I feel & look my best. I think anyway.

Any tips/advice? I'd love to hear what you have to say!

Crock Pot

So Mac & I were bickering the other day about how he wished I'd cook more. It's true. I don't cook often. We're gone out from the house with work up to 12 hours a day sometimes more. The last thing I want to do is cook. I do wish I would cook more. If I stayed home everyday & didn't work, there would be food on the table everyday, but unfortunately I can't do that..yet. I used to have a crock pot & when we moved, I  must of either left it or threw it out.  So in the very near future I will own one of these. I like the ones that cook & then warms the food if you're not home.

Here are some recipes I found that I want to try when I get one of these bad boys...

Blog Star: Hi I'm Jamie

Like the title says, I'm Jamie. I'm a 27 year old Jersey Girl. That handsome fella' in the pic above next to me is my guy Mac. We've been together almost 7 years (7/16 will be 7 years) and have a fur baby together. His name is Sir Licks a Lot. He's an 19 month old Pit/Lab.

I do a lot of link ups on my blog because life seems to be quiet right now and I'm okay with that. The both of us work weekends. I post about the fur baby and recipes I'd like to try if I ever had time. I joined blogger after lurking for a while & then quit for a while. I''ve been here a little over a year now & wouldn't change it.  I've met some wonderful ladies in the blogging community. I hope you'll come back soon!

Some random facts about me:

• I was a preemie. Born 9 weeks early & weighed 4 1/2 pounds. 
• I am an only child.
• I love Target, Starbucks & gossip magazines.
• I have a love/hate relationship with the gym.
• I'm on weight watchers for the last few months & it actually does work (when you actually use it!)
• Mac & I have been engaged for 5 years.
• We have no plans on getting married anytime soon. We don't believe in marriage, but in long term commitments. We have our own reasons for not wanting to get married (email me if you want to know why!)
• I love dressing up, but hardly ever do.
• I'm a dispatcher for a cable company. Definitely not my dream job, but it's not bad for now.
