Guest post #2

I have a couple of guest posts lined up the next few days while Mac & I are busy moving. My second guest post is from Nikki (see a trend going on here?) from Dancing in the Raine. I came across her blog when we were partnered for a scarf & a polish swap.  She's one of my favorite bloggers, so if you don't read her, you should! Anyway, I'll stop talking and let Nikki "talk".

First off, I want to thank Jamie for asking me to guest post for her while she's busy with the move, it's such an honor. However, I pity her. I hate moving. Hate it. So much in fact that when I returned home from college I vowed I wasn't moving again until I turned 30. I almost made it too. I was 27 when I finally moved into my own place. I like the unpacking part. I like to put things out and decorate and rearrange. I don't even really mind the packing it all up. What I hate is carrying all the boxes to the truck unloading the boxes and carrying up the stairs or whatever. It's just so so tiring.

Now, I promise I will not move until my 'family' gets too big to live in my apartment. However, if I was moving somewhere that included any one of these features I jump at the chance.

And of course with a new house I would need to add one of these...

Thanks again Jamie. I hope you get settled in soon. And you can always find me here...

Nikki I loved your choices.  I'd be moving in a heartbeat if I found any one of those combinations too! Thanks again for posting for me!

Guest Post #1

First I want to say Happy New Years! Hope everyone had a wonderful time and are enjoying your day.  I'm moving today, but I have my dear friend Nikki here to fill in for me while I'm gone. She used to blog, but recently deleted her blogger, which makes me sad. But enough talking, here's Nikki!

Hello friends! Happy New Year! I hope that everyone had a healthy and safe holiday season! My name is Nikki.

I used to blog. I have recently deleted my blog because of some personal reasons. I hope to get back into it eventually.

When Jamie asked me to guest post for her I was super excited! At first I had no clue what to write about. To be honest as I am sitting here I STILL have no clue what to write about. I figure lemme just start to write and see where it goes right?

I meet Jaime through blogging. We are both born and raised Jersey Girls. When I stumbled upon Jaimes blog I immediately started to follow her based only on the fact that we both live in Jersey. We started to email back and forth and now we text on a almost daily bias. It is really amazing the way two people can connect because of something so small as blogging. When I had my blog up and running I even had Jamie guest post for me.

Because of this little blog of Jamies we have formed a awesome friendship and I can honestly say that I see us being friends for a long time coming. I also know that I can tell her anything and she will not judge me and I know that she knows that she can tell me anything and I will not judge her.

I can not wait to meet Jamie face to face and go shopping. Heck we are only a hop skip and a jump away from each other!

With that said ladies take the time to really get to know the people who you are following and seeing into their world. You never know who you will meet!

Thank you so much Nikki for guest posting for me.  I can't wait to meet up with you and shop sometime very soon! Get back to blogging soon please!

Ladies- everything Nikki said here is true, you never know when you may make a new friend. I definitely see us being friends for a very, very long time!

New Years Resolutions

Since the year is almost over, I figured I better write some resolutions that I have for 2012. I'm hoping they're realistic enough for me to follow through with them and not give up January 3rd lol. This will be my last post until probably Wednesday or so since we'll be moving/settling in tomorrow.  I have 2 or 3 guest posts scheduled for my absence so you all shouldn't miss me too much!

Resolutions:
  • Spend more time with Mac & Sir, less time on-line or in a different room.
  • Cook more, eat out less (I would like to drop it down to eating out 2x a week at most)
  • Eat healthier.
  • Go to the gym at least 3x a week if not more.
  • Lose 10 pounds (i have more to lose but baby steps...)
  • Spend less, save more.
  • Blog more.  I'm finally getting into a groove of writing/linking up here that I don't know what I would do without it...
  • Pay off the money we owe my dad.
I'm sure there's more, but this works for right now.

What is everyone doing for New Years Eve?
I'm working til 3pm and I have no clue about Mac, but we'll be having a couple of friends coming over to the new place to just hang out.  I'll throw some frozen appetizers into our (really) small oven and it'll be fine I'm sure.  We just need places to sit lol
Regardless of what you do, enjoy time with family & friends! Happy 2012 & I'll see you next year!

So many things to do..

So little time..

In the next 16 days we need to:

  • Finish packing
  • Paint the new apartment
  • Clean the old apartment
  • Enjoy Christmas Eve/Day
  • Finish getting everything we need for the apartment
  • Have cable, electric and gas turned on
  • Work an obscene amount of hours
  • Rent a U-haul
  • Have friends over for New Years Eve (should be interesting!)
  • Find time to sleep.

The only thing that is keeping me a little sane is that come 12/31 I'm off until 1/5. Maybe I'll have the house settled by the 2nd and can relax the 3rd?

Do you work well under pressure?
Have you ever moved w/less than a month's notice?

Big News!

That's right.  This family of 2 (3 if you count Sir) are moving 1.4 miles from where we are now.  We've been here a little over 4 years and are finally outgrowing this place.  The new place is a bit bigger with a nicer layout and a HUGE closet.  We put a portion of the deposit down on Monday. We move in January 1st 2012.  I'm so excited. Best part is we no longer have to hide Sir.  Here's the ONLY pics I have of the place, but do not worry, there will be plenty once we get in and as we move.

I will say I am sad about leaving this place:

It was mine & Mac's first apartment together.  We've had many fights in this place, many laughs with friends and family, but we've also had some tough times in this place.  3 layoff, several close family/friends passing in a short time span.  I'm hoping a move in the beginning of the year means only good things are going to happen. Maybe 2012 will be our year.

Hopefully we'll stay here for a few years and hopefully the next time we move it'll be into a house or a 2 bedroom apartment.

Day 11: Things I look forward to in 2011

Today is the last day of the 11 in 2011 challenge. That means I finished my first Blogging challenge!  I had so much fun with this and I hope this is just one of many more I'll do.

Now on to todays topic...

Day 11: What I am Looking Forward to in 2011

Mac & I are going to TRY and take a drive down to Florida.  We want to stop at different places along the way.  It sounds like SOOO much fun & I'm hoping we can pull it off.  I'm sure I'll talk more about this as we continue to figure things out.

My 26th Birthday (February 15th by the way for anyone interested ;)
Since yesterday's post about girls night out came up I've decided that a) it's been WAY too long since a real night out with the girlies  b) it's been too long since I've been at Male Revue c) I've never really gone out and really celebrated my birthday (minus my 21st when I decided to bar hop til 4am with the BFF) that for my birthday I'm going to Male Revue.  I sent out the invitation via facebook yesterday.  So far it's me and 2 maybe 3 other people.  That's okay, small groups are better sometimes.  So February 12th me, my bff and a friend of the fiance will be going to see some good looking men dance for us.  I'm excited.

6th Anniversary

It's a weird number to celebrate but for our 5th anniversary last year we didn't do anything.  Mac was laidoff at the time and money wasn't something we really had to spend, so he's working this year and I'd like to celebrate it (I'm thinking that our trip to Florida would probably be our anniversary gift/trip since it'll cost quite a bit...all the more reason we HAVE to go!)

Mac turns 30!! I have til June to think about what to do for his birthday.

Some other things I look forward to:

Possibly moving into a bigger place (with my mom and Mac)
Talks about when we're going to TRY and have a baby
Starting school again
Getting a drivers license

Can't wait to see what everyone is looking forward to :)
