Balloon Festival

I took off work today to go to the Quick Chek Balloon Festival with Mac. I've wanted to go to this for a few years now. It used to taunt me when we lived in the old place. Update

So Sir was bit twice by another pit. You can read about it here & here. Animal control deemed the dog a juvenile and trainable dog. The owners got the dog back. Most people would train their dog to be better or get rid of them. These people did neither.  So let's fast forward to Saturday.  Mac, Sir & I are arriving home after a nice time at the dog park.  We come to turn into our lot & see 2 police cars and animal control in front. When cops or animal control are here it's usually for 1 family. So I emailed the superintendent to see what happened. She emailed me back on Sunday to say:

"The word on the street is that Gotti in fact bit the child of a family to see about getting one of the puppies. The child was bitten in the neck & needed surgery to have it repaired. The dog was taken by animal control and will be put down. Hopefully we will have no more worries about Gotti attacking anyone but it's a shame a child had to get hurt before animal control did something about it."

I am so glad that Gotti won't be here anymore. I feel horrible what happened to the child. No dog should ever be put down as I do believe with another family he may have been able to be trained to be nicer, but I do think it's too late for him. It was only a matter of time before something happened to someone else or another dog.

It's reason like this my dog gets a bad reputation..

Panic attacks

I wish this post was going to be filled with all kind of fun & goodies, but because I said I was going to be more open and post more than just pics, today I'm going to talk about something else. It's not something I see a lot of people write about or maybe I just don't read the right blogs. Either way...today is all about panic attacks, stress, all the bad things! Sorry no pics today :(

I believe I had my first panic attack Friday night! Everyone that has been reading me for a while know that Sir has been attacked twice since we've lived here by the same dog all while I was walking him. Alone. So Friday night Mac & I go to take Sir for a walk and as I'm walking down the steps I hear a dog barking..a nasty bark, not just a "I see another dog, let me make my presence known" bark. I ask Mac to walk the back way, away from the house with Gotti (yes, the dog that bit Sir is named Gotti). Mac told me that he wasn't going to change the way he goes because that would show fear or something. I wasn't listening past the no part. I told him I wasn't going so I walked back to the steps. He walked Sir around the building and came back to me. Told me not to worry if he was walking with us, nothing would happen, to come with him. I REALLY didn't want to,but I did anyway. Not without crying and shaking with goosebumps. Then to make it worse, the guy was outside with his other dog Jordan. She used to be okay but she too is nasty. Once we got across the street I was better.

It absolutely sucks that I can't walk outside without feeling like the dogs are going to get loose and get me. I haven't walked Sir alone since the night of the attack. If I need to walk somewhere I go the longer way to get out of the complex.

Mac tells me I shouldn't be fearful of walking Sir. Maybe if it wasn't me that was walking Sir ALONE the two times he got bit, I wouldn't be this way, but unfortunately it happened and until they or the dog are gone, it's going to keep happening.

When we got home yesterday there were 2 police cars, an ambulance & animal control at our building. Supposedly a child was taken in the ambulance. My thought is Gotti got the little girl. I hope this will be it and the dog that animal control once deemed "a juvenile and trainable" will be taken. I love dogs, but he's causing everyone stress around here.

Hey bloggy peeps.  My name is Mrs. Newlywed Giggles and I blog over at Newlywed Giggles.  For some odd reason, Jamie asked me to guest post for her.  I was like "what? you want me to write to your followers? But, I am not even cool." 
I know, crazy right?  Well, I feel so honored that she is allowing me to guest post for her.  Thank you very much girly!

Now, she tweeted me a gazillion times, well not a gazillion just once but gazillion sounds better, to remind me about this guest post.  I apparently forgot to use my brain to remember that I needed to actually submit written words for a guest post. She was so patient with me!!!  But, then it hit me.  What the heck do I write about?  I was hoping she was going to give me a topic, but she was like "whatever you want."  Great.  Now I have no clue what to write about.  Just great.

So, I wanted to give you some snippets about me.

• My blog is titled Newlywed Giggles, but I don't think I am  a newlywed anymore considering me and the hubs will celebrating 4 years of marriage in November. 
• I am terrified of bringing an actual human into this world and being responsible for it.  Like WHOA. That's like a human. A human who will bear our name.  There goes my reputation. I am pretty sure this is why we don't have kids yet. You're welcome.
• I laugh like the Tickle Me Elmo doll. No joke. Truth. Yes, feel bad for me. I feel bad for myself, so you might as well.
• I am from Jersey as well.... and yes, I do fist pump sometimes. No, I do not tan or go tanning or am the color of Doritos. But I LOVE watching The Jersey Shore. Entertainment at its best!
• I use the following words at least 100 times a day: womp womp, oh snap, boom snaps
• I believe that every guy who wears white sunglasses is automatically a douche.  Sorry, but it just looks ridiculous
• I am not funny, just corny and retarded. 

I hope you got some giggles out of the above.  That is my goal in life, to make people laugh.  You burn calories when you do!  Maybe I should re-read all my posts because I need to burn a lot of calories. Anyways, you guys are awesome if you made it to the end of the post.  Congratulations to you!

1. Dating a guy who, face it, you've never actually seen with his shirt on.

Now while I can not say I have done this I have known people who have done this and from what they tell me they DO NOT have any regrets for doing this. 

2. Trashy novels, now totally justifiable as "beach reads."

3. Happily reducing your beauty routine to a ponytail, a pedicure, and a wax.

Yeah I totally do this on a daily basis unless I have a wedding or something to go to then I will add in a little more. When I say little I mean little usually I just add in some eye liner and mascara. 

4. Using an ice cube as a sex toy. Burrr!

Can't say that I have done this. Or maybe I have? YOU my friends will never know. 

5. A really big, crazy-lady straw hat.

I don't think that there is one of us who don't have something like this.

6. Blasting Katy Perry in your car loud enough to get stares.

I have personally been blasting "Call me, Maybe"

7. Shimmer. Everywhere.

Ah good old shimmer. Who else has got it ALL.OVER.THE.PLACE?

8. "Baby, your such a good griller. You cook tonight!"

Now IF  I had a "Baby" to pawn off cooking on I would so be all over this! Own it girls! 

9. A shopping list that reads: yogurt, fruit, Carona.

Mine is more like fruit, fruit, and more fruit. Oh and some Sushi.

10. Going just a little blonder than you should.

Yeah been there done that! 

11. Frizz, sweat, bug bites, peeling. Whatever, you still  look hotter than you did in January.

Today Mac & I are celebrating our 7th anniversary together.


Mac, i love you more today than yesterday, but not as much as tomorrow.

Another Pitbull rant

Being a pitbull owner & a dog lover in general this story absolutely breaks my heart.  No dog should be put down because he looks like a certain type. People are always trying to blame the breeds they need to blame the people that own these dogs

So because the Judge in Ireland believed that little Lennox looked like a pitbull and could attack someone at anytime the little disabled girl is now without her companion! Meanwhile the pitbull that bit our pup twice is still living in our complex.

Hug your pups a little more and a little tighter today & be thankful you have them!

Ikea Wishlist

In 6 days(!) I will be on a much needed vacation. While the weather is supposed to be crappy, we have some things planned. A trip into NYC to Central Park, painting the apartment (or at least most of it) and a trip to IKEA. We plan on making our giant closet a home office.  It's big enough to function as a closet and an office so why not?

So I'll stop talking & show you what I want to buy from IKEA:

I love flowers & would love to have fresh flowers weekly,but they're expensive so I'll deal with fake ones 

That would be much more easier than searching through the drawers

I've been eyeing these table lamps for a while now. I think they'd look so cute on our night stands

The time I got an iPhone 4

I finally broke down & got an iPhone 4.  It was only $50 refurbished through Sprint, so I figured I couldn't go wrong. I've been having issues with my android like you wouldn't believe so I finally did it.  Now I need recommendations for apps besides the basics (instagram, pinterest & twitter are a given!) & phone cases (besides Otterbox)

Now all I need is a white iPad & I can match!

Happy 88th Birthday Pop! This years marks 14th birthdays in Heaven. I wish he was here to celebrate. I miss him tons. He was my favorite grandparent.  I have tons of memories with him & my grandma. He was a good man & would do anything for his family. I won't be sappy here. I'll save it for another entry..

So Happy Birthday again Pop! Hope you & grandma are celebrating in style!

Happy 4th of July!

Happy 4th of July friends! I hope you're enjoying the day! I wish I could say I had lots of plans, but I'll be at work from 12-8. Don't you worry though, Mac & I grilled last night in the kitchen. Enjoy the day!

Why we haven't gotten married

Lately a lot of people have asked why Mac & I haven't gotten married yet. We've been together almost 7 years and engaged almost 5. Most people find it odd that we're in no hurry to "tie the knot". I feel like I owe an explanation on why we haven't done it..yet.

Our reasons:

• We just don't see the point in getting a piece of paper to 'complete' our relationship. We have been together for (almost) 7 years and we feel married. We plan to be together forever, but we just don't see why getting that on paper really matters.
• We feel that once couples get married things turn sour. We've been together so long & things this way are great. I feel like if we got married, things would start turning bad for us. 

I believe in long term commitment not necessarily marriage.  It will happen one day, but not anytime soon. I think once we have kids it would be the right thing to do, but for right now, we're happy exactly how we are.  

ps. When we do get married. It will be on a beach & will look similar to this! <3
