Rest in Peace Nanny- 1 year later

When I was about to be a freshman in High school, dad & I were at my Aunt's for Sunday dinner.  Like every Sunday we'd call Nanny and talk to her.  She was telling me she couldn't believe I was about to be in high school.  She told me that before I knew it, I would be graduating high school, be in college and then be married with kids.  Being 14 I didn't believe her.  Now it's 13 years later and I can say she was right.  Those years FLEW by.  

That being said, it's been a year since she's passed away.  We weren't close.  I saw her once, maybe twice a year.  She was my last grandparent.  I do miss her though. We might not have been close, but she would still send me checks & cards for holidays (Easter, Thanksgiving).  She would also send coupons in the mail with 5 or 6 bucks thrown in between the coupons (you know so the mail man didn't steal it!)

For a little while. Due to some crappy circumstances we've cut off our internet and cable for a bit. My cell can be used as a modem so ill try to schedule some posts. In the mean time come follow me on twitter. @jamielkulik. Don't forget about me! I'll be back soon

Our 1st date

I don't think I ever shared about our 1st date, so since I'm trying to write more here and do less link-ups, I figured this would be a good thing to write about.  We had met 2 weeks prior to our 1st date and during that time of talking he asked me what my perfect date was.  I said it was dinner, movies & a walk on the beach. 


Our 1st date was July 30th, 2005.  We went to the movies & saw Stealth

After the movie, we went and got sandwiches and snacks since we weren't that hungry.  We drove to Guttenburg NJ to take a walk.  This was part of the view

Amazing views of NYC.  

He told me that this was the best he could do for a perfect date since we don't live close to the beach. I think he succeeded well in making the perfect date happen.

This was our 1st picture that we took together.

So that's our 1st date story.

Why we have dogs

We tend to forgive our pets even when they eat our sofa..and there has to be some reason right?

Sometimes I need a reminder on why I have this dog

So here's a list..

1. He sticks his tongue out randomly for no reason.

2. He'll come up to you when you're crying and lick your face.

3. His name is Sir Licks a Lot.

4. He has a shirt that says "I love big mutts and I cannot lie". 

5. He wiggles when you come home.

6. He cuddles next to you when you go to bed..even if he does hog the bed.

7. The way he stares out the window for hours at a time

8. The way he loves you no matter what.

My poor boy

My poor dog was attacked by another pitbull last night. We were walking in our complex when all of a sudden this dog came around the corner, ran towards sir and latched on to Sir. I have never heard such a scream come out of him. This dog held on for a couple of minutes before the owner was able to get him off my dog.

Other neighbors came out and tried to get him off of sir. Finally it was over. Luckily the neighbors near our apartment is a vet tech and was able to look over him. Another neighbor petted him and gave him a chicken jerky strip.

I called animal control after all was said & done. They'll be intouch in the next few days. Something needs to be done. This guy CANNOT control either of his dogs. There's a lot of people here that have said the same thing about him and those dogs.
It's guys like him that give pitbulls a bad reputation. If you know your dog is unfriendly, muzzle him or tell people he's not friendly. This guy is constantly bringing the dog near us. As much as i would love to blame the dog,I cant.

I was very proud of our boy though. He didn't fight back and looks good on our part. He's a lover, not a fighter. Sir has a vet appointment later to check if he's ok. I'll write more on it soon.
